Earlier this week, our family had a lovely dinner of potatoes, turkey and broccoli. We all had eaten our fill, escept for little Levi: he just kept popping broccoli!! Sometimes he's feed a piece to me or Grandma Paula, but most often he'd eat it himself. After he put a particular piece in his mouth, he really wanted to let us know how good the veggie was, so he said a very hearty "mm-mm". We all laughed. What a good example he is to us all.
Our little family is doing very well. Levi is growing up. He is taller and more confident and more and more vocal. He snuggles very well, lately, and liberally bestowes kisses on parents and gramndparents. He continues to love books. We read Good Night Moon before going to bed and he pretends to eat the bowl of mush every time (even when he's nursing already). His favorite book is Edward the Emu, which is at Grandma and Grandpa Hansen's house. (E the E is a book about an emu that tries to be different animals at the zoo) He looks for it first thing and then takes it to someone to look through the book together. He can make all of the animal sounds. For some reason he runs away whenever he gets a look at the last page, but he loves the lion and his favorite pages are the seal and the snake.
When Mom and I decorated the house for Christmas, Levi was the best helper. He helped us put bears and books (the decorations he can play with) by the front door, and carried ornaments from Grandma Paula, where she unpacked them, to me to put them on the Christmas tree. He likes to look at the tree and touch all the ornaments, but the tree is on a dining table so that we don't worry about him breaking any of the ornaments and getting hurt on the glass when we're not right there with him.He also helped Grandma Suzanne decorate her house for Chirstmas last night. He played with all the nutcrackers and helped her decide how to display them.
Our families preparations for Christmas are almost complete and we're looking forward to relaxing and spending time with family. Zan is coming up from Belize for the Christmas season and Suzie will come to vosist from Boston, if we can manage to find a cheap enough ticket. There will be a family get together of the Utah Hogan siblings in between Christmas and New Year's. We'll do our traditional Christmas stockings on New Year's Eve, and welcome the new year with all of its miriad possibilities.
